The Government College of Engineering (GCE) Kannur has established an interdisciplinary research centre namely “Centre of Excellence in SYSTEMS, ENERGY& ENVIRONMENT (CESEE)” under TEQIP-II. The centre aims at research, consultancy and other academic activities in the interdisciplinary area. The centre received a grant of Rs. 25 Lakhs from Centre for Engineering Research and Development(CERD) of APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University during the year 2017 vide Proceedings No: KTU/RESEARCH 3/2932/2016 dated 04/02/2017. Researches in renewable energy development, research in environmental science and system analysis as well as conducting energy audit are the major thrust areas. A meeting of all faculty of GCE Kannur held on 17 th Nov 2012, identified the following key research areas.
