IEEE SPICES has established itself as a flagship international conference series of the IEEE Kerala Section, fostering interdisciplinary research and collaboration in signal processing, informatics, communication, energy systems, and related fields since its inception.
The first edition of the IEEE International Conference on Signal Processing, Informatics, Communication and Energy Systems (IEEE SPICES 2015) was jointly organized by the IEEE Kerala Section and the National Institute of Technology Calicut during February 19–21, 2015, at NIT Calicut. This inaugural edition featured more than 200 paper presentations across six technical tracks, namely Communication & Networking, Signal Processing, Power Systems & Power Electronics, Instrumentation & Control, Theoretical Computer Science & Software Systems, and Applied Computing & Big Data. IEEE SPICES 2015 laid a strong foundation for interdisciplinary research exchange and collaboration among academia and industry.
The second edition of IEEE SPICES was held from August 8–10, 2017, in Kollam, India. IEEE SPICES 2017 served as a vibrant platform for technical exchange among researchers from academia, research laboratories, and industries in emerging areas including Signal Processing, Communication, Computer Science, Power Systems, Power Electronics, Electric Drives, and Instrumentation & Control. The conference attracted over 200 delegates from five countries and featured tutorial sessions, plenary talks, and 95 paper presentations across five technical tracks, reinforcing its growing international presence.
IEEE SPICES 2022 was conducted during March 10–12, 2022, and was jointly organized by Mar Baselios College of Engineering and Technology, Trivandrum, and the IEEE Kerala Section, in association with Bowie State University, USA, and the MBCET Alumni Association. The conference theme, “Smart Systems for Sustainable Development and Social Welfare,” emphasized technology-driven solutions for societal impact. The event featured three tutorial sessions, multiple plenary and keynote addresses, eight technical sessions, and a student project expo. A total of 104 papers were presented in both online and offline modes, with participation from academia, industry, and international delegates, making it a highly inclusive and impactful edition.
