INDIAN CONCRETE INSTITUTE (ICI) GCEK STUDENTS' CHAPTER

Indian Concrete Institute (ICI) is one of the leading professional bodies in India, catering to professional needs of individuals and organizations involved in concrete. It is a non-profit organization, dedicated to the cause of disseminating knowledge on concrete, to promote concrete technology and construction and to address the research needs of concrete. ICI Student Chapter (SC) was started in Government College of Engineering Kannur on 7th September 2013 for nurturing budding Civil Engineering professionals and bringing the gap between classrooms and the practical world. It had won the Best Student Chapter award in 2015 under ICI Calicut Centre. Since then the chapter had become dormant untill 2020. ICI GCEK SC was relaunched on 18th October 2020 and was inaugurated by Er.Shaju K, Chairman of ICI Calicut Centre. ICI GCEK SC currently has more than 150 active student members. Till date, ICI GCEK has conducted a number of programs, competitions, workshops and technical talks for the students, all of them with utmost efficiency and success. The chapter has seen significant progress in its activities since its relaunch. ICI aims to provide invaluable knowledge and practical experience to its members to help create a sparkling new generation of Civil Engineers. Dr.Deepu S. P., Assistant Professor in Department of Civil Engineering is the faculty coordinator of this chapter.
