INTRODUCTION

This course is designed to provide experienced programmers with a solid understanding of the Linux kernel. In addition to a detailed look at the theory behind the Linux kernel, you will also participate in extensive hands-on exercises and demonstrations designed to give you the necessary tools to develop and debug Linux kernel code. The programme also offers support for Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) development environment using various open source tools. The exposure in FOSS will enable faculty and staff to handle FOSS lab included in the KTU curriculum. Upon completion of this course, the participants will be able to manage Linux based systems for academic as well as research and development purposes

Faculty and Staff Development Training Programme on Linux Kernel Internals and Development ABOUT THE INSTITUTE

Government College of Engineering Kannur (GCEK) is one among the prestigious technological institutions under the Department of Technical Education (DTE), Government of Kerala. It is located at Mangattuparamba, Kannur. and affiliated to A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technological University(KTU). It offers B.Tech programmes in Five disciplines - Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Communication, and Computer Science and Engineering branches. Four of the above programmes have been accredited by NBA. The College offers Four M.Tech programs in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Electronics and Communication Engineering.

How TO Apply

In order to apply for the FDP, a candidate under DTE has to follow a two step procedure as follows.

1. Create an account in the Training Management System (TMS) portal of DTE: http://admissions.dtekerala.gov.in/tpms/login

2. Login to the portal and apply for the particular course from the list of available courses

3. A participant who is not under DTE has to visit the website http://admissions.dtekerala.gov.in/tpms and click on the +Read More button in the Apply For a Course tab and apply through Others option. Duly filled registration form, endorsed by the Head of the Institution, should be sent to the programme coordinator on or before 11th January 2019. TA/DA, FOOD AND ACCOMMODATION

Working lunch, tea and snacks will be provided for all participants during the days of the workshop. TA/DA will be provided as per Govt. norms to faculty and staff from Govt. /Govt. Aided institutions. Accommodation can be arranged on request.

CERTIFICATE OF PARTICIPATION

Certificate of participation will be issued by Govt. College of Engineering Kannur to the participants those who are actively participating in all the training sessions. Accommodation can be arranged on request.
