DTE Sponsored Faculty and Staff Development Training Programme On
Advanced System Administration in Open Source Platform- 19 - 24 March 2018
The popularity of the Open Source Environment continues to grow, as many companies, government agencies, and other organizations deploy mission critical applications on Linux-based systems. Most of the Government Engineering and Polytechnic Colleges are using Open Source Servers. Accordingly, there is a complimentary need for Open Source administrators who can operate and manage Open Source systems in this environments. The Administration course has been designed to provide a hands-on training in Advanced System Administration and leads to the professional expertise.

This course will actively engage the
participants in task focused activities, labbased
knowledge checks, and facilitative
discussions to ensure maximum skill transfer
and retention. In addition GUIbased
Environment will be featured to build on the
participant’s existing technical knowledge,
while command line concepts will be
introduced to provide a foundation for the
participants planning to become full time
Linux system administrator.
Objectives of the Programme
To develop the knowledge of working
principles, installation and configuration of
different servers.To develop the knowledge of working
principles of Firewall Systems and
Configurations.
